Kaapo Kakko Added to NHL’s COVID Protocol List, Saturday’s Game vs. New Jersey Devils Postponed
Kaapo Kakko has been added to the NHL’s COVID protocol list.

The NHL releases a list each day, and players who are sidelined for COVID protocol related absences can include:
(1) an initial positive test which remains unconfirmed until confirmatory testing is completed pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol;
(2) mandated isolation for symptomatic individuals pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol; (3) required quarantine as a high-risk close contact in accordance with the Positive Test Protocol;
(4) isolation based on a confirmed positive test result and/or;
(5) quarantine for travel or other reasons as outlined in the COVID-19 Protocol.

About Kakko, Gorton said the team can’t say much, per protocol. But was willing to say Kakko “is fine.”

In addition to this news, the NHL announced that a number of New Jersey Devils games will be postponed, including this upcoming Saturday’s contest vs. the New York Rangers.

The Rangers will take on the Penguins tonight, and are scheduled to play the Washington Capitals at Madison Square Garden on Thursday February 4 at 7:00 p.m.
