With the news that Jim Montgomrey is heading to Dallas, this leaves one less option that was on the Rangers’ radar. Mike and I had a long discussion about this on the podcast, which you can listen to here.
A few people are panicking because now two of the Rangers “top choices” are off the board. The truth is we have no idea how much actual interest there was in the two (the Rangers allowed Montgomrey to walk away without an offer) and Quinn wasn’t super high on my list for a few reasons. Adam’s thoughts on the matter align with mine as well:

Sheldon Keefe seems to be the last man standing among the “known” coaching candidates, although the list is assuredly bigger than what we know.
