Mika Zibanejad won the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award for the second consecutive season, the team announced Thursday.

Zibanejad has also continued to grow as a leader on the team, mentoring young players, being a public face of the team to the media, and is widely considered a favorite to be named the next captain whenever the Rangers decide to do so.

Off the ice, Zibanejad garnered attention for his support of Swedish women’s hockey in 2019 by announcing a pledge to donate proceeds from the Zibanejad Burger at his restaurant Brödernas.
