The mumps? What's next? Rickets?

Seriously, how the heck did this happen? Rangers' fourth line forward, and Blueshirt Banter favorite, Tanner Glass has a case of the mumps and Dan Boyle will be out today with the flu. Sadly, Chris Kreider is also out of the lineup this afternoon because of the passing of his grandfather. It looks like we're going to see a pretty different lineup from what we saw yesterday in the Rangers' 3-0 win over the Flyers.
This afternoon the Rangers will be plugging J.T. Miller and John Moore into the lineup in front of Henrik Lundqvist who is looking to follow up Cam Talbot's shutout yesterday with a great performance of his own. Miller should know that this is a huge opportunity for him to prove that he deserves to stay up with the big club, and with Tanner Glass out for at least a few more games, he should be competing directly with Jesper Fast and Lee Stempniak for a spot in the Rangers' bottom six.
Apparently the Rangers' players have now all received vaccines to try and keep the mumps from getting out of hand in the Rangers' locker room. If it spreads it can be pretty serious, just look at the games that Corey Perry missed with the Anaheim Ducks a little while ago. Here's hoping that the Rangers can keep this contained and that Tanner Glass didn't infect the rest of the roster like that monkey from Outbreak.

Our condolences to Chris Kreider on the passing of his grandfather.
