New York Rangers News: Henrik Tallinder Signs PTO In Hartford
The Hartford Wolfpack have brought in Henrik Tallinder on a professional tryout, where he is expected to play in a few of their upcoming games.
According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, the Hartford Wolfpack have brought in Henrik Tallinder on a professional tryout agreement, where he is expected to play in a few of their upcoming games. With the Tomas Kaberle experiment over and done with, the New York Rangers are hoping to have some better results with Tallinder. Just like Kaberle, Tallinder is being brought in as an insurance policy, and will likely remain down in Hartford if he is able to play his way into a contract.
Extra defensive depth is not a bad thing to have, especially after what the Rangers went through early on in the season with several significant injuries. Tallinder last played for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the pre-season, where he went down with a shoulder injury, which essentially ended any hope of receiving a contract. Prior to that, Tallinder appeared with the Buffalo Sabres last season where he averaged 18 minutes of ice time, while putting up two goals and six assists.
The Rangers are going to be playing this one by ear, so we will have to wait and see where this one goes.
For now though, thoughts?
