New York Rangers News: Rangers Agree To Terms With Malte Stromwall
The New York Rangers have added to their prospect pool by signing 21-year-old Malte Stromwall to a two-year entry-level contract.
On the eve of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the New York Rangers were busy making an addition to their prospect pool. According to a report by General Fanager, the Rangers have agreed to terms with Swedish forward Malte Stromwall on a two-year entry-level contract. The undrafted 21-year-old suited up for AIK in the SHL last season, where he totaled 25 goals, 17 assists and 42 points in 49 games played. Those totals were good for the team lead in both goals and points.
Another interesting tidbit is that Stromwall played alongside Robin Kovacs, another Swedish prospect within the Rangers system. One can assume the Rangers were intrigued by what they saw between the two in AIK this season, and decided to bring Stromwall on board. Based on on his scouting reports, Stromwall has tons of speed and skill, and will be a welcomed addition to a Rangers system that needs some replenishing.
Stromwall is expected to be in training camp with the Rangers next season, where he will look to make a run at a potential roster spot.
