New York Rangers News: Rangers Announce Nine Cuts, Roster Trimmed To 34
The New York Rangers have reassigned nine players to the Hartford Wolfpack, which trims their training camp roster down to 34.
As expected, the New York Rangers announced nine cuts today, and have assigned those players to the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League. The players that were reassigned to Hartford were Conor Allen, Mat Bodie, Chris Bourque, Ryan Bourque, Tommy Hughes, Danny Kristo, Jason Missiaen, Nick Tarnasky, and Petr Zamorsky.
Of those players cut, Ryan Bourque, Chris Bourque, and Nick Tarnasky all need to pass through waivers in order to report to Hartford. They will be placed on the waiver wire at noon, and will need to remain there for 24 hours in order to remain within the Rangers organization.
Another player who will have to pass through as well is Cedrick Desjardins, who is currently nursing an undisclosed injury, according to Andrew Gross. Injured players cannot pass through waivers, so once he's healthy, he will be heading down to Hartford as well.
