New York Rangers News: Rangers Recall Jayson Megna From Hartford

The New York Rangers have recalled forward Jayson Megna from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

A little under an hour after news broke on Derek Stepan's official injury timeline/diagnosis, the New York Rangers made a move to bring in another forward. According to the team's Twitter account, the Rangers have recalled forward Jayson Megna from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

While this move appears to be linked to the Stepan news, Larry Brooks notes that one forward will be considered a game-time decision tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. That would certainly explain the rather urgent recall, shortly after Alain Vigneault told the media that he didn't expect a forward recall this week. We will have to wait until warmups kick off at 6:30 to see who Megna could potentially replace in the lineup.

Megna was extremely impressive during the preseason earlier on in September, and as a result, he made it all the way up until the final roster cut. Since being sent down, Megna has appeared in 21 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he has totaled 5 goals, 7 assists, and 12 points.

We'll continue to update as we hear more.
