New York Rangers Open Thread: Rangers Vs. Hurricanes

Rangers look to make it three in a row against Carolina.

Canes Country | New York Rangers schedule | Rangers vs Hurricanes coverage

In their last ten games the Rangers are 6-3-1 and the Hurricanes are 2-8-0 and both teams are desperate for points to move up the ranks in the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers are a team with momentum, a healthy lineup, and something special brewing. The Hurricanes, on the other hand, have some serious injury woes, have been dropping important games of late, and are desperate to get something good going. It's still a little peculiar to think of the Hurricanes as division rivals but that is just what they are this season. There are some big points on the line tonight for both teams.

Let's go Rangers!!!

Mike's Player to Watch: Derek Dorsett

Dorsett is getting the nod tonight over Dan Carcillo. Carcillo hasn't been quite as noticeable of late so Alain Vigneault is tapping the shoulder of Dorsett who last played on March 5th against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dorsett must know that his ice time and a regular spot in the lineup is on the line tonight so look for him to inject energy and physicality into the Rangers lineup against the 'Canes tonight. The best thing that Dorsett can do is stay out of the penalty box, something that has been a challenge for him this season (105 PIM in 39 games this season).
