GIF: Rick Nash scores a buttgoal on the power play

Rick Nash did what, what, with his butt?

The Rangers don't always score power play goals, but when they do, they're butt goals.

At least that's case on Wednesday night. Rick Nash, who can't stop scoring goals, showed just how different of a season he's having, score a goal with his read-end against the Red Wings on the power play.

Nash had drawn a penalty while skating shorthanded that led to the eventual man-advantage chance, and then drove to the front of the net, using his garage to deflect the puck home.

The power play goal, only the Rangers fourth on the season in now 34 attempts, shows why it's important for New York to simply gets pucks on net in those situations. You never know what might happen, and in this instance, Nash and his rump were in the right place at the right time. Luckily, unlike the original butt goal, this puck did not end up in the scorer's own net.
