New York Rangers @ San Jose Sharks Game Thread
The Rangers conclude their twisting, turning, oft frustrating Odyssey through the wild west with a showdown against a struggling San Jose Sharks team.
One point. That's all the Rangers need tonight, as they face off with the San Jose Sharks to clinch their seventh consecutive playoff berth. Well, one point or a Boston loss (UPDATE: Boston won.) but let's keep things simple shall we? The Rangers are coming off of a frustrating 6-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday and are looking for some (or any) kind of consistency as the team heads into the home stretch and a showdown with the Montreal Canadiens (as of Tuesday afternoon) looming for the first round.
Seeing to find that consistency, Alain Vigneault has made some lineup changes and...well...he's got some 'splaining to do
Alain Vigneault apparently shaking up his lines for game at San Jose. Miller to the 4th line and Puempel in for Buchnevich #NYR

So, to recap; that's Pavel Buchnevich, he of the 3rd highest P/60 on the Rangers, being benched for Matt Puempel and J.T. Miller, owner of the 2nd highest P/60 on the Rangers, getting demoted to 4th line duties so Jesper Fast can replace him with Michael Grabner and Kevin Hayes.
Yeah.
