New York Rangers sign Dryden Hunt
Another depth forward added to the mix
The New York Rangers just announced the signing of depth forward Dryden Hunt. Hunt, 25, could be competing for a spot on the fourth line or as the team’s 13th forward but could also be on the ice in the AHL with the Wolf Pack.
Hunt’s deal is for two years.

The Rangers will be Hunt’s third NHL team. He played with the Arizona Coyotes last year after breaking into the league with the Florida Panthers. Last season, Hunt had three goals and five assists in 25 games with the Coyotes. He’s a proven scorer at the AHL level, where he has 150 points in 214 games. At the NHL level, his game is all about energy, being smart off of the puck, and taking the body. He had 94 hits last year with the Coyotes. That’s 3.62 hits per game with an average ice time of 11:57 TOI/GP.
On paper, this looks like a shrewd depth signing for the Rangers. We’re still waiting for the AAV and the other terms of this deal to become public.
