More testing and more positive cases in the latest update from the league.
Less than 24 hours after the NHL and NHLPA agreed to Phases 3 and 4 of the “Return to Play” plan, the NHL sent out a press release with updated numbers of both players tested and players that tested positive for COVID-19.

23 players tested positive for the virus that has shut the world down, while taking part in Phase 2 of Return to Play which included small groups skating at team facilities. Along with those 23 players in camp, the league also announced that 12 players that were not part of the Phase 2 protocol tested positive as well.
Keep in mind, it took just one positive test in the NBA shut down the entire sports world. Now, 33 positive cases are seen as a mere stumbling block to starting hockey back up again.
