Mika Zibanejad Finishes 8th in Lady Byng Trophy Voting
Artemiy Panarin also received votes, and finishes in 16th place
Nathan MacKinnon picked up the 2019-20 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded “to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability,” as selected by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Both Mika Zibanejad and Artemiy Panarin received votes, just like they did for the Frank J. Selke trophy, with Zibanejad finishing in 8th place and Panarin finishing in 16th place.

Zibanejad received five first place votes, four second place votes, 10 third place votes, seven fourth place votes, and seven fifth place votes. Panarin picked up two first place votes, two third place votes, one fourth place vote, and four fifth place votes.
The award usually goes to a player who is well regarded in terms of sportsmanship, and someone who usually has the fewest penalty minutes. Zibanejad had 14 penalty minutes this season, and Panarin had 20. MacKinnon finished the year with just 12 penalty minutes.
