NHL Draft Lottery: New York Rangers Will Pick No. 2 Overall At 2019 NHL Draft
The New York Rangers moved all the way up to No. 2.
General Manager Jeff Gorton came to the draft lottery in Toronto with a lucky charm of sorts hoping that it would be enough for the New York Rangers to win the draft lottery.
Jeff Gorton said he has some sort of lucky charm that he will bring to Toronto for the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery on Tuesday. "I have sworn to secrecy that I can't show you until we win." The Rangers have a 7.5% chance to win it.

The Rangers didn’t get the No. 1 overall pick, but they will be selecting No. 2 overall at the draft this June in Vancouver where they will likely pick the remaining option of Jack Hughes and Kaapo Kakko.
The Rangers entered the evening with a 7.5% chance of picking No. 1 overall, a 7.8% chance at No. 2 overall, a 8% chance at No. 3 overall, a 16.3% at No. 6 overall, a 38.9% chance at No. 7 overall, a 19.4% at No. 8 overall and a 2.1% chance at No. 9 overall.
At No. 2 overall the Rangers will have the opportunity to add an amazing talent who will jump to the front of the prospect pool. In a few weeks we will have a full assortment of draft profiles, and you will be able to learn more about some of the players the Rangers will have a chance to select.
In addition to No. 2 overall, the Rangers own the Winnipeg Jets’ first round pick, a second round pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning that becomes the No. 31 pick if they win the Stanley Cup, and a second round pick from the Dallas Stars that upgrades to a first if they make it to the Western Conference Final and Mats Zuccarello appears in 50% of the team’s games through the first two rounds.
