Rangers Hire Mike Grier As Adviser to Hockey Operations
Yesterday the New York Post reported that Brian Leetch resigned from his role in Hockey Operations as an adviser, and Chris Drury has filled that vacancy with Mike Grier.

Grier most recently served as an assistant coach for the New Jersey Devils, and was hired for that role before the start of the 2018-19 season. Prior to that, Grier spent four seasons as a pro scout with the Chicago Blackhawks, and he also served as an assistant coach for St. Sebastian’s High School in Needham, MA.
As Brooks points out, Grier is a former teammate of Drury’s both in college and with the Sabres, and overall he appeared in 1,060 games in 14 seasons. He spent six seasons in Edmonton, four with the Buffalo Sabres, three with the San Jose Sharks, and two with the Washington Capitals.
This is the first of many hires that Drury will make as his builds up a new staff, and one role that will be important to fill soon is an assistant general manager to oversee the Hartford Wolf Pack.
