Andersson has appeared in eight games since being assigned to the AHL and has a goal and five assists for six points in that span. It is safe to say the Rangers’ brass likes what he’s done so far and want to be able to keep a closer eye on him for the remainder of the season.
He will have a chance to improve upon his stat line for the remainder of the year in the minors, and there’s a good chance he will get a look after the trade deadline without the Rangers burning a year off his entry-level contract.
