Via Google translate, the article included in the Tweet had the following quote from Frölunda sports director Fredrik Sjöström
Rangers has decided to keep Lias, to whom they are entitled. Sad to us, but we knew about the conditions and must respect that decision.
When Andersson was assigned to Hartford it was originally thought to be solely for rehab purposes as it was revealed he was playing with a separated shoulder.
NYR 1st round pick Lias Andersson, coming off WJC silver-medal (toss) performance for SWE, is in NYC rehabbing an injured shoulder. The SWE captain suffered a separated shoulder midway thru the WJC but played SF and gold medal game with it. Likely out to 2 to 4 weeks.

Andersson has appeared in eight games since being assigned to the AHL and has a goal and five assists for six points in that span. It is safe to say the Rangers’ brass likes what he’s done so far and want to be able to keep a closer eye on him for the remainder of the season.
He will have a chance to improve upon his stat line for the remainder of the year in the minors, and there’s a good chance he will get a look after the trade deadline without the Rangers burning a year off his entry-level contract.
