The decision was swiftly made after Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for coronavirus and a game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was cancelled tonight.
It was reported by Pierre LeBrun that a statement from the NHL would be coming following the NBA’s announcement.
At the moment, the NHL has not come to a final decision on whether to suspend the 2019-20 season indefinitely. Tonight’s statement noted that the league will continue to consult with medical experts and assess how to proceed moving forward. The NHL will update further tomorrow.
