Rangers vs. Hurricanes: Open Game Thread
After a loony loss to Columbus on the road, which included an appropriately intermural* tribute to the retiring Rick Nash, the Rangers will face the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at MSG. They’ll also be celebrating Pride Night, which we’ll be talking more about tomorrow.

Carolina hasn’t won at MSG since [checks notes] October of 2010, but the Canes have triumphed in 7 of their last 8, and ... yeah. Tonight, the big news isMarc and Jordan Staal are brothers the NHL debut of rookie defender Ryan Lindgren, who may stick around for a while. Filip Chytil is on a three-game point streak, and the PK is 11 for 11 in the last two (eek) games. Henrik Lundqvist will be in net, and check out Adam’s piece on what may be Boo Nieves’ last chance.
Chris Kreider -- Mika Zibanejad -- Mats Zuccarello
Filip Chytil -- Ryan Strome -- Jesper Fast
Jimmy Vesey -- Boo Nieves -- Vladislav Namestnikov
Cody McLeod -- Brett Howden -- Pavel Buchnevich
Ryan Lindgren -- Kevin Shattenkirk
*No, actually, I DON’T mean “intramural.” “Intermural” means “between institutions,” i.e. between the two NHL organizations, Columbus and New York. (I did wonder, if we view the NHL as a single institution, might “intramural” technically be correct; however, it’s not like they were going to partner with MLB for Rick Nash Night, so the play stands as called.)
