NYR Place Chad Ruhwedel on Waivers

Elliot Friedman just announced the waiver wire, and today, it just so happened to have a familiar face.

This reveals a few things; first and foremost, Victor Mancini is here to stay. With Lindgren returning, for better or worse, Mancini will remain a mainstay on the Rangers' defense while Zac Jones will more than likely fulfill the role of seventh defenseman rotating in. Though it hurts to see Zac Jones sit in the press box, Mancini has earned this opportunity by playing phenomenal hockey. We can count the fact that the NYR brass view Jones as the superior option over Ruhwedel as a small victory.

If Ruhwedel clears, he'll be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack. His veteran presence will further bolster Hartford's back end, and he'll remain the top option in case the injury bug or other unanticipated events occur for the Rangers. We'll further update the story as Ruhwedel goes through the waiver wire.
