Phil Housley Named Associate Head Coach
Rangers announce their newest coaching addition
Well it's official, looks like the NYR brass wrapped up the team's coaching hires. Earlier today Drury and co. announced their newest addition.
#NYR make it official: Phil Housley is associate head coach, and Dan Muse and Michael Peca are assistant coaches .

Phil Housley, who is a hall of fame defenseman, had prior coaching experience both with and without Laviolette. He was an assistant coach with the Nashville Predators under Laviolette's regime, but went on to become the Head Coach of the Buffalo Sabres. While the Sabres and Housley parted ways after a couple of unsuccessful seasons, there is something to be said about perhaps one of the best defenseman to have ever played the game having an influence and role in guiding the team which includes Rangers All-Star Adam Fox. If that doesn't give you the warm fuzzies, I don't know what Rangers news will.
The roles for each coach have not been clarified, but the team made several good decisions that have even the most cynical fans scratching their heads. Welcome to the club, Phil.
