Pregame: The Nash-less Rangers Are Back in Action Against the Devils, 2/2
No Nash and no Cammalleri. Just two teams desperate for a win.
The Rangers return to action after the All-Star break tonight on the road against John Hynes' New Jersey Devils. Both teams will be missing some firepower in the first game of the "second half" of the season. The Rangers will be without Rick Nash who is on the shelf with a bone bruise and the Devils will be without both Mike Cammalleri and former Ranger defender John Moore. Nash hopes to practice with the team tomorrow, but is still dealing with a considerable amount of pain according to Andrew Gross.
Coverage from the other team's perspective: All About The Jersey
Veteran blueliner Dan Boyle will be returning to the lineup for the Rangers which means that Dylan McIlrath will once again be a healthy scratch after playing some solid hockey.
The spotlight tonight will be on the goaltending duel that has come to be the headline whenever these two rivals meet. Henrik Lundqvist will face off against All-Star Cory Schneider in what will likely be a low-scoring affair at the Prudential Center. Schneider has allowed ten goals in his last six starts and has won four of his last five games for the Devils.

With Nash out of the lineup the Rangers will once again turn to recent signing Daniel Paille to fill in in the bottom six. The Rangers will also be hoping that the red-hot J.T. Miller, who has five goals in his last six games, can help the team improve on their recent struggles while wearing their road whites. The Rangers are 3-10-2 in their last 15 road games and are 9-12-3 on the road this season.
Will the Nash-less Rangers start their February off on the right foot? Or will they continue their struggles on the road at the Prudential Center against a Devils team that they really have to beat? We will find out when the puck drops at 7:00PM.
Thanks for reading. Let's go Rangers.
