Preseason Game #3: New York Rangers at (kinda) New York Islanders
The Rangers travel to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tig...I mean the New York Islanders for their 3rd game of the Preseason
Following two penalty filled, and surprisingly thrilling, OT wins at home the Rangers are on the road this weekend with their first stop being Bridgeport, Connecticut to take on the Islanders this evening.
The team the Rangers are bringing up I-95 will consist of a couple of players who have made huge impacts already and some players that looking to make that impact and make the team.

Miller
Puempel
Hayes
Farnham
Vesey
Carey
Desharnais
Chytil
Tambellini
Stromwall
Buchnevich
Lettieri
Coming off of his massive home debut, Filip Chytil draws back in tonight hoping to follow up on his performance against the Devils. Malte Stromwall is making his preseason debut while Pavel Buchnevich, Jimmy Vesey, and Kevin Hayes look to continue their solid preseason so far.
On the back end:
#NYR Goalies and Defense for tomorrow:

GOALTENDERS
Ondrej Pavelec
Chris Nell
DEFENSEMEN
Bereglazov
Pionk
Kampfer
Graves
Skjei
DeAngelo
This defense should be fun to watch as the overtime hero from Game One, Neal Pionk draws back in as does Anthony DeAngelo and Ryan Graves who both had solid outings at MSG against the Islanders while Alexei Bereglazov looks to show some positive signs in this battle for those limited defense spots. In goal, Ondrej Pavelec looks to get some work in (expect him to split time tonight) with Chris Nell backing him up.
Players to Watch:
Filip Chytil may have gotten and earned all of the rave reviews from Wednesday's game, and with the forwards dressed tonight expect to see the 18 year old Czech get ice time with Pavel Buchnevich and Kevin Hayes which should be all kinds of fun.
The Rangers defense is such an intriguing mess in the best way possible. Neal Pionk and Anthony DeAngelo have looked really good so far while Marc Staal and Nick Holden have faltered so this is a good chance for both of the younger defensemen to force the Rangers into a difficult decision. Pionk and DeAngelo already have game experience though, so I'm really interested to see the big Russian Bereglazov (I'm calling him Bear Glaze, it makes things easier) draw in and make his mark on this competition.
The Rangers play back to back games this weekend so a lot of questions could be answered and even more can be raised, it should be a lot of fun. Enjoy it!
P.S. everyone reading this GameThread has just been whistled for a slashing penalty and two faceoff violations
