Preseason Game #4: New York Rangers vs New York Islanders Open Thread
The Blueshirts have reached the halfway point of their preseason schedule, and by the end of the day they’ll be two thirds of the way through after clashing with the New York Islanders tonight. After squaring off with the Devils on Thursday, the Rangers will be trotting out a group primarily composed of players that didn’t suit up.
Among the players skating tonight after playing two nights agi will be Will Cuylle, the team’s 2nd round pick from the 2020 Entry Draft. Cuylle had an outside shot to make the team entering training camp, but likely has helped his cause by having a noticeable camp and preseason to date.
Player to Watch: Dylan Garand
Garand will be splitting goaltending duties with Jonathan Quick against the Islanders. Although Garand is all but assured to begin the season in AHL Hartford, his performance tonight could help determine whether he or Louie Domingue opens the AHL season as Hartford’s opening night starter. Keep en eye on Garand once he gets into the action.
Enjoy the game!
