Today’s transaction(s) leaves four players on the Rangers’ taxi squad: Libor Hajek, Keith Kinkaid, Anthony Bitetto, and Colin Blackwell.
This will be Barron and Robertson’s first taste of professional hockey. Barron, 22, was the 174th pick (6th round) of the 2017 Draft and Robertson, 19, was the 49th pick (2019) of the 2019 Draft. Robertson has joined the Rangers organization from Cornell University and Robertson last played with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.
The 2020-21 AHL season is slated to begin on Feb. 5 with 28 teams, including the Hartford Wolf Pack, competing. The Wolf Pack are one of just three teams in the AHL’s Atlantic Division — along with the Providence Bruins and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers — competing.
