Rangers Dominate Flyers; Mumps; Miller and Fast; More Tampa Bay Lightning; Will Canadian Dollar Affect Cap
Bantering Points for Cyber Monday, December 1, 2014.
Ugh. I am not ready for Monday. Still on weekend settings. Must drink coffee. Must find a PS4 Cyber Monday Deal. Somebody link me a good deal.
In case you missed it over the holiday, the Rangers picked up four points against the now hapless Philadelphia Flyers, decidedly dominating a back-to-back home-and-home on Friday and Saturday afternoon. [Blueshirt Banter] [Broad Street Hockey] [NY Daily News] [NY Post] [Rangers Unlimited]
McDonagh returned and it was a big boost, of course. The healthy Rangers (minus Glass) were in tact for a day, at least. It was fun. [NY Daily News] [NY Post]
Martin St. Louis earned his 999th and 1000th point on Friday. What a career. [NY Post] [NY Daily News] [Bangor Daily News] [USA Today]
I rather liked that Matt Hunwick got the nod over John Moore on Friday. Thoughts? Moore drew back in on Saturday and played pretty well. [SNY]
Right back to a short bench. The Rangers had to play on Saturday without the services of Chris Kreider (death in family), Dan Boyle (flu), and Tanner Glass (mumps, seriously). The whole team was vaccinated to, you know, contain Tanner's mumps. [Blueshirt Banter] [Newsday] [NY Times] [NY Post] [LoHud] [NY Daily News] [North Jersey]
J.T. Miller was called up and performed well on Saturday, notching his first goal of the season and an assist. Jesper Fast scored his first as well and also added an assist. A bunch of players could and should take Tanner Glass' spot on the fourth line. Permanently. Miller and Fast are two obvious candidates, for sure. The Lightning? Again? Stop it. Please. And now they have Victor Hedman back. Kreider will be back. Super. Is this a must win? [NY Daily News] [Newsday] [NY Post] [LoHud] [Blue Line Station] [SNY]
Mats Zuccarello talks to Norwegian paper about his play this season. [SNY]
Jeff Klein of the New York Times discusses the value of the Canadian dollar, and what effect, if any, it may have on the salary cap. We will be watching the cap situation very closely all year here. Stay tuned for Capology updates in the coming weeks. [NY Times]
Happy Cyber Monday!
