Rangers loan Filip Chytil to Czech World Juniors team
We’ll soon have a chance to see how Chytil compares to some of the other top prospects in the world.
Filip Chytil, the Rangers top forward prospect, will be competing on the world stage with the Czech World Juniors team. Today the Rangers made Chytil’s loan to his national team official.

Larry Brooks first reported on this story back in late November. His belief is that Chytil will represent his home country and then return to the Rangers organization rather than being loaned overseas like Lias Andersson.
In 15 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season the 18-year-old Chytil has five goals and seven assists. Needless to say those are impressive numbers for a teenager. It will be interesting to see what Chytil looks like in an intense tournament like the World Juniors as opposed to playing in regular season contests for a struggling Wolf Pack team.
The World Juniors are taking place in Buffalo this year. The tournament begins on December 26, 2017, and will end with the gold medal game on January 5, 2018. The Czech team is in Group B along with Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and Belarus. Chytil and his teammates will meet the Russians the day after Christmas for their first game of the tournament.
