I don't know about you guys, but I see this as a pretty important game for the Rangers tonight. With a decent Columbus team and the Caps waiting in the wings, its not hard to envision a loss tonight turning into a four game losing streak and sending half the fanbase back into the utter panic they've been in and out of all year.
I've heard both the coach and players both say that the heavy November schedule prevented them from solid practicing, and that the days off after Sunday night's game has enabled that. So that obviously means Rangers 6-1 over the Sens tonight right? Seriously though, coach and team need to back that up tonight with a strong performance.
I know many fans were saying that its been hard to sit on Sunday night's loss for four days waiting for another game, and they wished the Rangers had come right back and played Monday, but I think the Rangers were just drained Sunday night, and everybody needs a break from work, even if its playing hockey. As a fan, sometimes I need a break too.
Larry Brooks says the Rangers "are at a crossroads", but aren't they always with Larry?
Brooksie also has the latest on Vinny Prospal:
Vinny Prospal, out all year with a right knee injury for which he underwent surgery on Oct. 4, skated before practice in full equipment for the first time.
"So far so good," No. 20 told The Post. "But [trainer Jim Ramsay] said that how I feel in 24 hours is key."
Chris Drury (broken left index finger) again skated with the Rangers during their optional morning skate and will have his finger re-examined and X-rayed on Sunday. The captain doesn’t want to say for sure what the doctors might say if everything looks clean but he’s hoping to be cleared for contact drills. If that does happen, Drury said his conditioning is already essentially at game-ready status so, he’s hoping, that could mean getting back into the lineup next week. Perhaps. If all goes well.
From the day I started this site, it has never ceased to amaze me which stories we put up garner attention, and which ones don't. That
stupid little song parody that I wrote about Frolov the other day was re-tweeted by more people than just about anything I've ever posted here. Hell, I heard they even liked in on the HF Boards. Seriously, I think "Mary Had a Little Lamb" took longer to write than "Time to Go Alex Fro", but whatever, as long as people are reading, its all good. Maybe a follow up song is in order, how about "The 12 Line Combos of Christmas" or maybe "I saw Crosby Kiss The Referee"? Well, we'll see about those.
See you all tonight in the game thread, and Let's Go Rangers!
