Haley hits the waiver wire
The New York Rangers have placed veteran forward Micheal Haley on waivers. Haley played just 1:06 of hockey last night against the Florida Panthers. Thus far, Haley has dressed in 10 of the Rangers 18 games and has averaged 5:49 TOI/GP. He ranks second on the team in PIM (40) behind Brendan Lemieux (45).

Haley, 33, was signed by the Rangers to a one-year deal worth $700,000 in cap space as a UFA after he joined the team for training camp on a PTO. Thus far, his most frequent linemates at 5-on-5 have been Lias Andersson (42:28) and Brendan Smith (40:07).
Haley hitting waivers could be a sign that star center Mika Zibanejad will be back with the team for Wednesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals.
