Blidh joined the Rangers in a trade that sent Gustav Rydahl to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Rangers assigned Blidh to Hartford after acquiring him, and in 11 games tallied 17 points with the Wolf Pack. In the playoffs he posted a line of 2-5-7 in 9 playoff games. The extension will reportedly pay Blidh $775,000 a season, and it seems likely he'll return to the AHL next season as an option to be NHL depth should the Rangers need him.
Blidh was drafted in 2013 in the 6th round (180th overall) and has 84 games of NHL experience under his belt. He made his debut back in 2016-17, and has a line of 4-8-12 while averaging 9:42 per game.
