Gettinger, 20, was assigned to the Wolf Pack after failing to break camp with the Rangers this past training camp. He’s tallied seven goals and has 11 points in 20 games with the Pack, who currently sit in sixth place in the AHL’s Atlantic division. He is tied for first among AHL rookies in goals and co-leads the Wolf Pack in goal-scoring this season.
Gettinger was selected by the Rangers in the fifth round (141st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Assuming he draws into the lineup — perhaps in relief of the seemingly ailing Mats Zuccarello — for tomorrow’s afternoon contest against the Washington Capitals, he’ll be set to make his NHL debut.
