Rangers Recall Nicolas Aubé-Kubel From Hartford
Aubé-Kubel was recalled as the Rangers head out on a west coast swing and with news that Sam Carrick won't practice for personal reasons.

As the Rangers head out West for a three game road trip against each of the league's Californian teams, recent trade deadline acquisition Nicolas Aubé-Kubel will join their roster.
UPDATE: Nicolas Aube-Kubel has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise seeing as the Rangers are already at a full 23-man roster with Brett Berard, Calvin de Haan and Urho Vaakanainen as the most recent healthy scratches. It was reported soon after that Sam Carrick is not practicing with the team today due to personal reasons but there's always a chance more guys are either banged up or under the weather.

As for Aubé-Kubel, he's coming off a big weekend in the AHL as he scored the game-winner in overtime in Hartford's 2-1 win against the Milwaukee Admirals. The goal comes as his only point with the Wolf Pack in three games played.

Aubé-Kubel has nine points in 15 total games played in the AHL this season. The former second round draft pick had a goal and an assist in 19 games with the Buffalo Sabres this season and is known for more of a gritty, fourth line role. Given how this season has gone, I can't say I'll be surprised if he ends up playing over one of the Rangers' younger forwards but barring any other news, he should come as an extra skater in the event that Carrick and one other forward can't go tomorrow night in L.A.
