Rangers reflect on game three; Letang "accident" sends Stalberg to dentist; Seven recalled from Hartford
Today's New York Rangers notes
The Rangers had all of yesterday to think about their game three loss to the Penguins. Following a Wednesday afternoon optional skate, Derick Brassard and Alain Vigneault reflected on the subpar third period that lead to New York's 2-1 series deficit [Blueshirts United]
Kris Letang is avoiding league discipline after his controversial high-stick on Viktor Stalberg in the third period of Tuesday's game. No call was made on the play, even though Letang's stick blatantly came into contact with Stalberg's face (he lost three teeth). More details here. The Rangers also called up their emergency "black aces" or "taxi squad" or "group of minor leaguers that assist their NHL team once the AHL season comes to an end" (pick your favorite phrase). More details on the seven players recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack here. [Blueshirt Banter] [Blueshirts United]
The latest on Dan Girardi.
No update on Dan Girardi (undisclosed) after he skates today other than he remains day to day.

On the lighter side from game three, New York Jets' offensive lineman Nick Mangold was fully engaged in his part of the Garden crowd, heckling the Penguins from behind their bench.[NY Post] [NHL] Either he is still taking out his frustrations from the Jets missing the playoffs or he REALLY dislikes the Pittsburgh team.
Game four is scheduled for this Thursday at 7 p.m. [Penguins vs Rangers coverage] [PensBurgh]
