Rangers Sign Kalle Vaisanen to Entry-Level Deal
An eventful Tuesday for the Rangers front office as the team has just announced the details of another entry-level contract in Kalle Vaisanen.
The Rangers 4th round draft pick in the 2021 Entry Draft, Vaisanen is a 6”3 right winger that has spent the last three seasons playing with TPS Turku in the Finnish Elite League. (SM-Liiga) Coming off a career season with TPS Turku, Vaisanen has registered a total of 14 points (9 goals and 5 assists) in 58 games played. His career total across three seasons accounts for 14 goals and 10 assists. Additionally, Vaisanen scored once and assisted on three other goals across nine playoff games with TPS Turku this year and has consistently contributed a goal and an assist as part of Finland’s U20 Team at the past two World Junior Tournaments.
Despite a larger build, Vaisanen is praised for being a solid skater with great hands that moves the puck incredibly well. As a result, he’s known to be more of a playmaker that isn’t afraid to get physical as needed. He will undoubtedly be a great addition to an increasingly well-stocked Wolf Pack team.
