Rangers Sign RFA Braden Schneider to Two-Year Deal

Another day, another signing. Drury continues to wrap up his offseason business, this time inking Braden Schneider to a savvy bridge deal.

Earlier in the week, Vince Mercogliano was reporting the Rangers and Schneider were close to a bridge deal in the range of $2.5 million a year, and Drury got it done just a little under that number. This is a good piece of business as Schneider has proven to be an important part of the Blueshirts' future on the back end. This past season fans witnessed some growth from the young defender, scoring a career-high 5 goals and 19 points. His hit total also increased as he placed in the top 5 on the team with 167 hits. As his role expands and his comfort level with the NHL pace increases, we can anticipate seeing these numbers increase in the upcoming seasons.

The last major piece of business Drury now has is securing Ryan Lindgren. With just under $6 million left under the cap, it should be a fairly easy last contract for the Ranger's GM to finalize.
