Rangers Sign Riley Nash to Two-Year Deal

The New York Rangers have signed Riley Nash to a two-year deal to add some depth that can shift between the NHL and AHL.

Rangers Agree to Terms with Riley Nash
New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Riley Nash on a two-year contract.</p>…

Nash spent last season with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL and finished with 59 points in 66 games. He last played in the NHL during the 2021-22 season, and in recent years he's primarily been known for his defensive abilities at 5v5.

Here's how he's performed individually via HockeyViz.

Nash is another one of those guys who will compete for a spot previously occupied by Tyler Motte. There's also a good chance he plays a prominent role for the Hartford Wolf Pack and ultimately adds to the overall organizational depth.

At the NHL level you aren't looking for him to provide you offense, but defensively he can be solid and help the penalty kill. At $775,000 a season, this is another low-cost signing with upside for the Rangers.
