Rangers vs. Blackhawks: Rock Bottom (?)
The Rangers got smoked by the worst team in the league. Yeahhhhh.
- Every time I think this team is done hitting rock bottom, they reach into their bag of tricks and find a shovel. This most recent hole they dug was losing a listless, lifeless game against the worst team in the league. The Rangers scored one goal (a Will Cuylle shorthanded goal) and mustered seven third period shots (four in the first 11 minutes or so).
- Defensive lapses continue to be the norm. This might have been one of the worst games K'Andre Miller has played all year – which is truly a high bar to leap over. Mika Zibanejad boxed out his own defender on the Blackhawk's first goal. The Rangers allowed a slew of odd-man rushes throughout the game, and only Igor stopped this from being a blowout.
