Rangers vs. Blue Jackets: A Win Before The Break
The New York Rangers got a much-needed win before heading into the 4 Nations break.
- That is another one of those games that's become famous for the Rangers this year where they secure a win and no one really feels all that good after it. There were so many low points in that game, and I can't imagine what Columbus is feeling having dropped those critical two points as they look at their own playoff situation. Then again, the Rangers out-shot Columbus 40-25. Curious to see what Vally's scoring chance chart looks like.
- The win keeps the Rangers five points behind Detroit for the second wild card spot. Feel the excitement of the 2024-2025 New York Rangers! That's where we'll head into the break of 4 Nations Face-Off.
- When was the last time you remember watching a game where neither team got a power play?
- There were so many insane things about this game I don't even know where to start. I guess the best place would be Jimmy Vesey being the first line right winger. Once that dust settled, Vesey played 17:33 in the game. I, uh, have no idea what Laviolette is doing anymore. It's almost not even funny. Arthur Kaliyev (who scored in his return from a four-game press box stint) or Brennan Othmann wouldn't be better choices there? You know, guys who will be here next year and are young, cost controlled, and, oh right, actually suited for the role?
- More about this one after the jump!
