Hey, the Rangers won a game! Did you forget what that felt like? Because we did.

  • I'm sure it's nice for the locker room to get a win. I'm sure it's nice for the team to have fun coming off the ice at Madison Square Garden with two points – something that last happened nearly a month ago.
  • All that said, I don't feel all that much better after last night's game than I would have if they lost the game. Jonathan Quick stole one – which is his job now – and the Rangers shit their pants after a nice first period. I didn't see anything that told me this team was getting out of their funk, which at this point is probably the most important thing you want to see if you still have dreams (delusions) of this team competing for a Stanley Cup this spring.
  • All that said, it was nice to see two games in a row with some type of positive effort. Sure the Rangers lost to Florida in what felt like a silver lining loss, but it was still something more than we've seen the past six-to-eight weeks. It was much the same in the first period against Boston, where the Rangers shot out to a two-goal lead, and played up to the Bruins' standard for the first 20 minutes.
  • Things, however, deteriorated from there. I'll give Mika Zibanejad his flowers that he scored a goal (at even strength no less) but the rest of his game was about what we've seen all year. Chart wise, he had his best game in weeks. Eye test, I think he's playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders and he still can't seem to shake it.
