Rangers Vs. Canadiens: Anthony Duclair Likely Returning To The Lineup Against Montreal
Based on line rushes this morning, it appears as if Anthony Duclair will be reinserted into the lineup against the Montreal Canadiens, after sitting out the last two games as a healthy scratch.
After sitting out the last two games as a healthy scratch, it appears as if Anthony Duclair will finally return to the lineup tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens. Based on the line rushes this morning, Duclair will be paired up with Dominic Moore and Carl Hagelin on the third line tomorrow night. Ryan Malone was skating as an extra as well, which means that he will be the one coming out of the lineup in favor of Duclair.
The original decision to scratch Duclair still doesn't make much sense, especially when you have a guy like Tanner Glass, who doesn't need to be an every-night type of player. Luckily for us, the Rangers were able to rattle off two straight wins in Duclair's absence, so it didn't send any of us over the ledge. Alain Vigneault has mentioned numerous times now that if Duclair was going to play, it had to be a top-nine role. With a spot finally opening up on the third line, it will be interesting to see if Duclair will stick past Saturday's game.
Here is the expected lineup for tomorrow night:
Chris Kreider - Kevin Hayes - Rick Nash
Mats Zuccarello - Derick Brassard - Martin St. Louis
Carl Hagelin - Dominic Moore - Anthony Duclair
Tanner Glass - Chris Mueller - Lee Stempniak
Ryan McDonagh - Dan Girardi
Marc Staal - Kevin Klein
John Moore - Matt Hunwick
