  • I don't think Saturday afternoon fixed anything. I do think a win is a win and the boys played hungrier, with more emotion, and overall just better. They also went up against a floundering Montreal team that overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period and only lost the game because of their own ineptitude. Sometimes that happens, and the Rangers will take the two points gladly.
  • There are still concerns, though. The Rangers just look off at times, and often for long stretches of the game. While the first period was so much better, and the second had so much more fire and emotion, the third was another one of those "burn the tape" moments that the Kakko game-winning goal will hide from view.
  • Which for now is probably a good thing, because I'm not sure the locker room could have taken a blown two-goal lead loss again.

Far more below the fold ...
