Rangers Vs Capitals Game 3: Ryane Clowe Is A Game Time Decision For Tonight
Ryane Clowe will remain a game time decision tonight, but all signs are pointing to him going in the lineup in place of Arron Asham.
Ryane Clowe was present at the New York Rangers optional morning skate, along with Carl Hagelin, Brian Boyle, Derek Dorsett, and Marc Staal. Clowe told the media after the skate that he is a game time decision for Game 3, but the expectation is that he will play tonight in place of Arron Asham. While nothing has been officially announced, and won't be until game time, we'll have to wait and see if that is the case.
This speculation is coming from the fact that Ryane Clowe exited the ice with the rest of the regulars, while Arron Asham remained on the ice for some extra work, which usually signifies that a player will be a healthy scratch from the upcoming game. But again, that's pure speculation at this point.
According to Dan Rosen of NHL.com, there still is no way to tell if/when Marc Staal will return to the lineup for the Rangers. He says that Staal is physically ready to return, but it's more of a mental thing that is preventing him from coming back. He still has to feel comfortable and confident when he steps on the ice, and it doesn't appear that Staal is at that stage in his recovery just yet.
