Rangers vs. Devils: An Actual Good Game?
Raise your hand if back in the summer you had Sam Carrick scoring a pivotal overtime winner for this team. Now put them down, you liars.
- I mentioned this on the podcast this week with Ryan (listen here) but the most frustrating thing about this team this year, hands down, is that they have that inside them every night. It hasn't come out all that often, and when it does it's usually not for a longer stretch, but that team exists in there somewhere. Their inability to harness it has been the frustration. And what's worse is most of their inability to harness it is that they simply gave up trying for six weeks.
- I truly do not understand the obsession with Devils fans about the Rangers. I genuinely do not think they will know what to do with themsevles if (when) the Rangers miss the playoffs and they can't watch hockey anymore. Sure I poked fun at them on Twitter last night, but they were also playing the Rangers. One of their reporters quipped that the Devils won the series against the Rangers in the regular season this year with the overtime loss. Poverty Franchise.
- Who had Sam Carrick doing any of the following:
A) Playing a single shift in overtime
B) Stripping Jack Hughes of the puck
C) Scoring a goal
D) Having that goal be an OT winner?
Ok now how many of you had all four?
- More about Kaliyev and that line's usage (bad), Zibanejad and his ice time (bad), Adam Fox (good), Igor Shesterkin (good), some overall thoughts (mixed bag), and more!
