Rangers vs. Hurricanes: Open Game Thread

The Rangers look to get back into the win column versus the Hurricanes tonight

The New York Rangers (30-32-7, 67 points) are set to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes (30-27-11, 71 points) tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers are coming off a shootout loss in Florida, while the Hurricanes won 3-2 over the Chicago Blackhawks in their last game.

This is the third meeting between the Rangers and Hurricanes. The Rangers defeated them 6-1 in February in North Carolina, and won 5-1 in December in New York. They meet once more after tonight, on March 31 at PNC Arena.

Alexandar Georgiev will be in net for the Rangers. He's now appeared in four games at the NHL level, going 1-2-0 with a .930 save percentage and 2.65 goals against average. Scott Darling will be between the pipes for the Hurricanes. Through 36 appearances, he's gone 11-16-7 with a .890 save percentage and 3.06 goals against average.

Besides the starting goaltender, the rest of the lineup has yet to be announced. There will be some game time decisions tonight, including whether David Desharnais will be ready to return to play.
