Rangers vs Maple Leafs - Open Game Thread

The Rangers take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Rangers look to extend their winning streak to nine games tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-8-4). Both teams are on the tail end of a back-to-back; the Rangers won last night in Ottawa 2-1, and the Maple Leafs beat the Canucks 4-2.

The Leafs have a difficult start to their season, ending the month of October with a record of 1-7-2. Their play of late has been a bit better, as they are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Jonathan Bernier (0-6-1, 3.02, .899) is expected to start tonight, as James Reimer got the start last night. Here is the projected Maple Leafs lineup:

James van Riemsdyk - Nazem Kadri - Leo Komarov

Shawn Matthias - Tyler Bozak - PA Parenteau

Daniel Winnik - Nick Spaling - Joffrey Lupul

Michael Grabner - Byron Froese - Peter Holland

Jake Gardiner - Dion Phaneuf

Matt Hunwick - Morgan Rielly

Scott Harrington - Roman Polak

Jonathan Bernier

The Rangers should look much the same as they did yesterday against Ottawa, with the only difference being in net. Antti Raanta (3-0-0, 0.67, .976) will get his fourth start of the season. So far, every start for Raanta has come for the second game of a back to back. Here is the projected Rangers lineup:

Rick Nash - Derick Brassard - Mats Zuccarello

Chris Kreider - Derek Stepan - J.T. Miller

Oscar Lindberg - Kevin Hayes - Viktor Stalberg

Dominic Moore - Jarret Stoll - Jesper Fast

Ryan McDonagh - Dan Girardi

Marc Staal - Dylan McIlrath

Keith Yandle - Kevin Klein

Antti Raanta

Despite what their record shows, this Toronto team should not be taken lightly. Hopefully we got the sloppy turnovers out of our system yesterday, because this team can make you pay for them. Let's get another quick goal, or two, or ten, and put this game away early.

Let's go Rangers.
