Rangers Vs. Maple Leafs Preview: Time To Bounce Back

The New York Rangers will look to bounce back tonight at Madison Square Garden for their home opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After falling to the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-2 last night, the New York Rangers will look to rebound tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers had a tough time generating chances in the offensive zone last night, and when they did, Sergei Bobrovsky was there to clean up the rest. It was also evident that Kevin Klein should be no where near the second pairing, as he was a contributor to at least two of the goals against last night.

Luckily for the Rangers, this isn't the team that they will be going to battle with a few months from now. They're currently missing their number one center, and a top four defenseman to boot. No team would be able to recuperate from those losses, so they best they can do is muster up as many points as they can over the next couple of weeks. There are obviously going to be rough patches, as we saw last night, but it's better these things happen at the beginning of the year.

Take last year for example. The Rangers were downright terrible during the first month of the season, then again in early December, and look where they ended up. It's way too early to panic, so the best option is to ride out the storm and hope for the best. Tonight is another chance to get back into the win column.
