Rangers vs. Oilers Open Game Thread
The New York Rangers (1-3-0, 2 points) are fresh off their first victory of the season and will look to make it two in a row as they take on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers (0-2-0, 0 points).
Today is Junior Rangers Kids Day at Madison Square Garden, and today’s lineup will feature a number of youngsters such as Brett Howden and Filip Chytil among others.
The Blueshirts will have another new lineup as Kevin Shattenkirk rotates back in after sitting vs. the Sharks. Tony DeAngelo and Neal Pionk are both out as healthy scratches. Tweaks were also made to the forward lines.
OK, that's the last time I fall for a David Quinn practice. Here's #NYR in warmups: Kreider-Zibanejad-Fast, Zuccarello-Howden-Buchnevich, Vesey-Hayes-Spooner, Namestnikov-Chytil-Lettieri.

Skjei-McQuaid, Claesson-Shattenkirk, Staal-Smith.
Lundqvist.
In practice yesterday, it looked as if Adam McQuaid would be a healthy scratch along with DeAngelo, with Shattenkirk and Pionk getting back into the lineup. Shattenkirk was set to return to Skjei’s right, Pionk to Staal’s. Instead, the Skjei-McQuaid pair stands and the Claesson-Smith pair from last game was broken up.
Lundqvist faced the Oilers last season and made 27 saves on 29 shots in a 4-2 victory on November 11.
Here are the expected lineups for the Oilers.
