Rangers Vs. Oilers Preview: Five In A Row?
The New York Rangers will take on the Edmonton Oilers tonight at Madison Square Garden where they will look for their fifth straight win.
The New York Rangers will take on the Edmonton Oilers tonight at Madison Square Garden, where they will be searching for their fifth straight win. Yes, you read that right, FIVE. The New York Rangers blew the Colorado Avalanche out the building just 48 hours ago, and it likely would have been much worse if not for the spectacular play of Semyon Varlamov. The Oilers have been struggling mightily, and have been resorting to the trade market in order to find some help. Sam Gagner has recently been rumored in a deal, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's gone before game time.
With a set of back to backs coming up, Alain Vigneault elected to roll with Cam Talbot tonight, and Henrik Lundqvist tomorrow night. Ben Scrivens (ugh) is scheduled to get the start tonight for the Oilers, which should be an absolutely blast. Oh yeah, tonight is also the 6,000 game in franchise history for the New York Rangers, so capping off tonight with a win would make it that much better.
The full lineup for tonight's game can be found below.
