Today the Rangers face the Nashville Predators at Madison Square Garden after losing to the Penguins in overtime and losing to the Islanders in the shootout. The Blueshirts come enter today's matinee game with a record of 1-5-2 compared to Nashville's record of 4-2-1. Despite the Predators superior record they have just a +2 goal differential and are 1-2-1 on the road thus far this year. But the Predators are very much a team going in the right direction; right now the same cannot be said of the Rangers.
Predators winger Filip Forsberg is off to a blistering start this season. The Swede has nine points in his first seven games including four power play goals. P.K. Subban is also rolling. The offensive defenseman has seven points to start the year, including six assists - four of which have come on the man advantage. Giving the Predators power play opportunities today could prove to be fatal.
The Rangers haven't won a game since defeating the Montreal Canadiens on October 8th. Needless to say, the Predators will be a tough test for a Rangers team that is plagued with problems. After today's contest the Rangers will play the Sharks on the 23rd and the Coyotes on the 26th to wrap-up a massively disappointing six-game home stand.
