Rangers vs Red Wings Open Game Thread

The 7-7-1 New York Rangers are on the road, in the first of a back-to-back, to take on the 5-8-2 Detroit Red Wings. Both teams are looking to extend a win streak; the Red Wings are coming off of a 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks, while the Rangers are striving for their fifth win in a row.

Henrik Lundqvist will be in net for the Rangers, but there are some changes up front. Mats Zuccarello is day to day with a groin strain, so Pavel Buchnevich will move up to the first line to take his place and Ryan Spooner to replace Buchnevich. Brett Howden’s back in the lineup tonight and will return to his place on the third line, with Jimmy Vesey and Jesper Fast on his wings. With Howden back, Lias Andersson moves to the fourth line wing, alongside Filip Chytil. Vinni Lettieri completes the fourth line trio, and Cody McLeod is set to be a healthy scratch. There doesn’t appear to be any chances on defense.
